Junior Business Analyst
Full Time

Maclab Properties Group is looking for a creative and energetic Junior Business Analyst.

This position will support IT and the accounting group with help desk duties and allow growth and experience through: analyzing, managing, documenting, and validating business requirements, process maps and business cases. Provide technical support in troubleshooting technical difficulties in specific systems. Support effective identification, assessment, prioritization and resolution of requests for bug-fixes/enhancements.

You will be working and training with the Sr. Systems Analyst and this position will report to the Manager, Information Technology.


IT Duties:
•Provide support to operations with issues in MRI, Nexus, RealPage, etc.
•Monitor the IT help desk queue and resolve issues during business hours and also after-hours as part of the on-call rotation.
•Provide support to rest of IT team in providing customer service and technology support to the entire organization including tier 1 desktop, network and Office 365 support tickets
•Setup and maintenance of workstations and other computer equipment throughout the organization
•Create and update training materials, maintain knowledgebase, deliver training, and report on training results
•Provide technical support in troubleshooting technical difficulties encountered by operations staff, specifically in MRI and RealPage, and their related integrations
•Support effective identification, assessment, prioritization and resolution of requests for bug-fixes/enhancements
•Understand and support inter-system data quality issues, working with end users and technical teams to resolve these issues and their underlying causes
•Participate in pilots and rollouts and be a backup for the oncall IT schedule

Project Management:
•Work with management, operations and accounting teams to perform discovery and implementation of new addons or process changes to MRI, RealPage and other initiatives as required
•Work with third party consultants and vendors to implement various initiatives or partner integrations with MRI and RealPage
•Employ techniques to maximize system adoption and buy-in

Ad Hoc:
•Assist in the preparation of various business reports by identifying various reports available in the systems for Midwest accounting and other departments
•Elicit, analyze, manage, document, and validate business requirements, process maps, use cases
•Assist in identifying areas for improvement within the system and recommend viable solutions to improve workflows, report preparation and relevant business processes
•Facilitate, document and execute user acceptance scenarios, coordinate user acceptance testing UAT for software updates, track issues, report status
•Document data requirements; perform business verification of data conversion activities
•Training new employees and refresher training in MRI, Nexus, RealPage and other systems
•Microsoft suite of products including operating systems, support, training


•Minimum 2 years of experience working in a similar or related capacity
•Knowledge and practical experience with software implementations, software development lifecycle methodologies, business process re-engineering, and organizational change management
•Familiarity with basic to intermediate account concepts general ledger and sub-ledger journal entries, debits and credits, accounts payable functions, bank reconciliations
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Flexible, organized, and high-attention to detail
•Able to work independently but must initiate collaboration and team work as needed
•Ability to manage a small project and coordinate with various staff coming from different disciplines
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Methodical and logical troubleshooting skills
•Experience with MRI, RealPage and/or similar industry software would be an asset
•Basic SQL skills select, order by, group by, having, subqueries, inner join, self-join, natural join, outer join, insert, update, delete, table maintenance, primary keys, views, transaction processing, constraints, indexes, stored procedures, triggers, cursors, etc., knowledge of basic programming, experience with SQL Server Management Studio SSMS, and familiarity with concepts of APIs and system integrations is an asset
•Honesty, integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality is a must
•Good interpersonal skills and ability to lead one-on-one and group training


A diploma or degree in information management, information technology, business administration, or computing science. Candidate with prior business analyst experience is a plus and we will consider candidates actively seeking to acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills through education and training.
